    FAQ

I have just purchased a property with an old house on it that has to go. Where do I start?

You can start with a quote from us and we will provide one in writing for the demolition of the house and removal of all asbestos and vegetation, ready for rebuilding.

Do I need any permits or permissions?

Yes, you need a demolition permit, which we can arrange for you. This is so that your builder has the certification that shows the work has been done to a high standard, ready for building. You will have to check with your council as well, to ascertain if you are in a demolition-free precinct and that your house is not heritage listed.

What else do I need to do?

All of the services must be disconnected before we can start work. Firstly, power must be disconnected by Energex, and we supply the link (on our quote) to the form that must be sent into your power supplier. The sewer must be then capped by your plumber. If you have gas, that must be capped as well. Also check with council to ascertain if any large trees on your block are under a protection order.

I want to keep some trees – can I do this?

Yes, you can. We will tailor the demolition to your requirements, and we can do a selective clearing of your block with just the house to go. We can then go to a full site clear where everything is removed, and the site is scraped clean and clear, including all trees and vegetation.

    Do you recycle?

Yes we do. We always salvage as much as possible, from the roof to structural beams through to the weatherboards. All concrete and bricks are taken from site to recycling centres to be crushed and recycled into construction materials. All vegetation is also mulched for reuse.

    Do you only demolish houses?

We do a variety of work, from residential dwellings through to large commercial projects. We have recently finished the iconic old Ford Factory at Eagle Farm.

    Do you provide free quotes?

Yes, we do, and we can post, email or fax a quote to you.

I need discretion as I have tenants in my property; how can you do this?

This is not uncommon, and our estimators have had years of experience. They can calculate a quote from a discreet distance, and your privacy is assured as our cars are all signage free.

    Are you insured?

Yes, we have full public liability and all of our staff and machinery are fully covered and protected.

How long does it take to demolish a house?

It can take 1-2 weeks, depending on weather conditions. However, if you have a specific deadline to meet, please contact us because we can usually meet your schedule.
